Claude Gauthier, singer | The duty

In his musical career, Claude Gauthier was first trained in classical music; then, his inner poetry took center stage, which was a perfect success for him. I remember this song that he composed to pay tribute to Simonne Monet-Chartrand, daughter of a judge, who was going to weld her existence to the trade unionist Michel Chartrand, this extraordinary missionary that he was, in order to safeguard our national identity. How to forget ? Alas, our memory always turns out to be too short, because we only remember the subjects that are annoying. Thank you, Claude Gauthier, for bringing a “luminous supplement” to this country in search of hope; and to have added a bit of poetry, which we need so much, to survive the destiny of our daily lives. I remember you, dear Claude Gauthier, so full of authenticity, great man of the North!
