Claude François Jr in mourning after the death of the man who welcomed him the day his father died

He was 82 years old and was Claude François’ favorite composer, since he wrote his greatest hits for him: “Alexandria Alexandra”The phone is crying”, or “Magnolias for Ever”. Jean-Pierre Bourtayre, former vice-president of Sacem, died on March 4, 2024. And it was Claude François Junior who announced it on March 5, 2024, on his Facebook account.

“It was with him that we took refuge”

With emotion, he explained that this man was the “artistic accomplice“, “artistic director”but also one of the few friends his dad had, whom he apparently nicknamed “Boubou”. And as proof, he says: “it was with him and his wife Brigitte that we took refuge on March 11, 1978 for several days”. That day, Claude François died of electrocution while trying to change a light bulb in his bath.

About Jean-Pierre Bourtayre, who also collaborated with Eddy Mitchell, Michel Sardou and Charles Aznavour. the son of the idol says thus: “He had the elegance, the experience and the benevolence” and remembers: “We saw each other often for years, often had lunch together.”

As is customary in this type of situation, Cloclo’s heir also sent his condolences to the family, writing: “Our thoughts go to his three children Frédéric, Laurent and Marie, as well as to Brigitte and Isabelle who shared his life and finally Nicole Damy, his lifelong friend.

“See you all the time!”

And to conclude his message with “one of his expressions that I love (and that I still use years later, thinking of him every time) and which takes on a very special meaning today: ‘See you all the time!'”
