Among the adventurers who have marked the history of “Koh Lanta”, it is difficult not to mention a certain Claude Dartois. In four participations in the TF1 survival game, the adventurer has shown how efficient he is in events and holds the record for individual victories: he has won 22 of his four editions, not counting the collective victories, to which he often strongly contributed. Winner of seven events in 2010, the master driver can even claim to be an absolute record on an edition.
Alas, strong suspicions of cheating came to tarnish this resplendent picture. We thus remember that on December 14 last on TF1, at the end of the final intended to crown the big winner of “Koh Lanta, the legend”, Denis Brogniart announced an irrevocable sentence: no sacred adventurer during this prestigious edition supposed to celebrate the 20 years of the program. “We investigated, and found that a small group of adventurers violated this code of honor by managing to scavenge food outside of the game. As a result, we decided to pay the all of the winnings, i.e. 100,000 euros, at the bottom for Bertrand-Kamal, carried by the ARC foundation. This fund (…) is devoted to research against pancreatic cancer“, had explained the emblematic host of “Koh Lanta”.
A terrible decision for Claude Dartois who was finally going to win for the first time the title of winner he coveted so much. In comments delivered in Louise Aubery’s “In Power” podcast, the adventurer and father was not the most gentlemanly in mentioning a possible new participation in the survival game. “If I did it again a fifth time, I could still go to the final. I don’t even want to now given the turn of the game. It’s not as pure as it was at the beginning. I really don’t want it anymore”, he blurted out. Hard hard.
