Stone throwing, against tear gas shots. In Dakar (Senegal), clashes broke out between demonstrators and riot police, as hundreds of people tried to gather near the Place de la Nation. The mobilization is the first major protest since the postponement of the presidential election. “We are fighting against injustice in this country. Macky Sall wants to impose his person on us, he is tiring us. I paid dearly for my studies, and until then, I have no job. He has completed his mandate , let him go”comments Alimatou Goudiaby, a demonstrator.
Several dozen people arrested
“He is the first president who carried out a coup d’état in our country”, adds Gora Fam, another demonstrator. In the capital, the highway and major routes were blocked. Several dozen people were arrested. No report has yet been communicated by the Senegalese authorities.
