Saturday May 25, before the kick-off of the Coupe de France final, supporters of Olympique Lyonnais and Paris Saint-Germain, en route to Lille (North), clashed on the A1 motorway.

Scenes of chaos in the middle of the A1 motorway. Surreal images were filmed late in the afternoon on Saturday May 25 in Pas-de-Calais, by motorists blocked by supporters of Olympique Lyonnais and Paris Saint-Germain. A massive clash took place between 100 Lyon supporters and 200 Paris supporters. They were on their way to Lille (North), where the final of the French Football Cup took place between the two teams. These incidents were caused by an unexpected meeting between the two groups near the Fresnes-lès-Montauban tollbooth.

As a result of these clashes, a bus caught fire, four others were vandalized and the toll gate was partially set on fire. Around twenty lightly injured people were treated by Samu du Nord. In addition, at least eight police officers were injured. According to the prefecture, the action of the police made it possible to put an end to the clashes, but no supporters were arrested. Traffic on the highway was interrupted for a few hours.
