Diplomatic tension continues to crystallize in this migration crisis on the border between Poland and Belarus. On Tuesday, November 16, clashes took place between Polish security forces and migrants.
On Tuesday November 16, hundreds of migrants, armed with stones and slingshots, attempted to attack the Polish border. In front of them, the Polish soldiers and police fight back with water cannons and tear gas. Exhausted by cold and hunger, migrants demand the opening of borders. For several hours, migrants and forces and order clashed. On the migrant side, several wounded are to be deplored.
France and the European Union still accuse the Belarusian president of instrumentalizing this migratory crisis. On November 16 at the National Assembly, Prime Minister Jean Castex said the President of Belarus Alexander Lukackenko, try to “disunite the European Union“. On the other hand, Belarus and Russia maintain their accusations against Poland. The Belarusian Foreign Minister says that “the behavior of the Polish police is unacceptable“. Alexander Lukashenko still wants migrants to return to their countries. On Thursday, a plane will come to repatriate nearly 200 migrants. A blow for the latter, who spent thousands of dollars to come to Europe.
