(Toronto) Reserve Jordan Clarkson scored 16 of his 30 points during the fourth quarter and the Utah Jazz came from behind before defeating the Toronto Raptors 126-119 on Saturday.
Lauri Markkanen, for his part, scored nine of his 30 points in the fourth quarter, helping the Jazz get back on track.
For the Raptors, who lost a third game in a row even though they led for three quarters, Scottie Barnes provided 32 points and 14 rebounds. OG Anunoby added 19 points.
At his 500e game with the Raptors, Pascal Siakam had 19 points and nine rebounds.
He joined DeMar DeRozan (675), Kyle Lowry (601), Morris Peterson (542), José Calderón (525) and Chris Bosh (509) in the Raptors’ 500-game club.
The Raptors led 71-55 at halftime. Gary Trent Jr. made a three-pointer late in the third quarter, giving the Raptors a 98-85 lead heading into the final period.
The Jazz scored the first 10 points of the fourth quarter, coming within three points of their rivals.
Clarkson eventually tied the game 104-104 by scoring on a rebound with 6:44 remaining. After a Raptors timeout, Markkanen made a basket, giving the Jazz their first lead of the game.
Markkanen and Clarkson added three-pointers later in another Jazz surge.
Barnes gave Raptors fans hope with a basket late in the game. But with the crowd cheering on the Raptors’ defense, Siakam fouled Clarkson from beyond the three-point arc. The Jazz player made his three free throws, giving his team a nine-point lead with 91 seconds left in the game.
Clarkson made another three-pointer with 29 seconds left, sending the spectators heading for the exit.
