(Washington) Discussions between representatives of General Abdel Fattah al-Burhane’s armed forces and General Mohamed Hamdane Daglo’s Rapid Support Forces will take place in Saudi Arabia on Saturday, Riyadh and Washington confirmed in a joint statement.
The United States and Saudi Arabia welcome the “beginning of pre-negotiation discussions” in Jeddah between representatives of the two Sudanese belligerents and call on them to “be actively involved” in order to achieve a “ceasefire and an end to the conflict.
