A former boss of the Environmental Public Hearings Office (BAPE) should take the helm of the Office de consultation publique de Montréal (OCPM).
Philippe Bourke was chosen to lead the municipal body on an interim basis, after the dismissal at the end of November of president Isabelle Beaulieu, in the wake of an expenses scandal.
If his appointment is approved by Montreal elected officials, he will begin a six-month mandate by the end of the year.
“Mr. Philippe Bourke is recommended to serve as interim president of the Office de consultation publique de Montréal,” indicates a municipal document given to elected officials. “His in-depth expertise in the management and governance of various organizations and associations, his marked interest in mobilization and behavior change strategies make Mr. Bourke a candidate of choice for the position to be filled. »
Mr. Bourke is currently employed by Hydro-Québec, where he “guides the energy transition strategy”.
Mme Beaulieu was fired by the municipal council after revelations from Quebecor about her frequent use of chic restaurants in downtown Montreal to hold meetings. She also used public funds to purchase Apple headphones worth more than $900.
