Cirque du Soleil plans to move into a London theater

Cirque du Soleil intends to move into the Saville Theater in London’s West End, the English daily has revealed The Stage. It has just entered into a partnership with the firm Yoo Capital which has just acquired it.

The information was confirmed by Eric Grilly, president of Cirque du Soleil’s resident shows. “We are thrilled to join Yoo Capital and the Camden community to reimagine the future of the Saville Theatre,” he told The Stage. We believe this is a great opportunity for us to bring back entertainment live in this place with new content and new ideas. »

Yoo Capital will shortly undertake the renovation of the 110,000 square foot building, based on the needs expressed by the Cirque. A hotel will also be integrated into the performance hall which will become a permanent venue for the Canadian multinational.

The Saville Theater is part of a group of historic buildings in the West End. The theater, which had its heyday in the 1960s, hosted legendary groups like The Bee Gees, The Beatles, The Who, Jimi Hendrix and The Rolling Stones, before closing in 1970 and being converted into a cinema.
