Away from the large fast fashion boutiques that populate downtown Montreal, the Pôle Textile offers, in the former Montreal bus station, an immersion in the heart of circular practices in textiles and clothing.
Until September, actors and actresses from the textile sector are exploring practices such as upcycling, recovery and repair.
Pop-up sales, making workshops, training, awareness-raising activities and designer markets are on the program each month, including an upcycling workshop for beginners (June 27) and an introductory workshop on vegetable dyeing (July 5).
The Textile Center is located in the Escale Circular, a transitional occupation and experimentation project launched by the City of Montreal in order to test different uses for the development of the mixed real estate project that will be built on the site.
