Circuit Mont-Tremblant: Valérie Limoges writes a page of history

Valérie Limoges wrote a page in Canadian motorsport history on Sunday by becoming the very first female driver to win an all-categories prize in a Canadian road circuit racing series!

By finishing third in the 12th and last race of the season in the Nissan Sentra Cup, contested on the legendary Circuit Mont-Tremblant, it was able to maintain its leading position until the curtain went down.

In the final standings, she is ahead by three points of Simon Charbonneau, whose two victories in the Laurentians this weekend were not enough to dethrone the new winner of this one-design series.

Limoges wins its first Nissan Sentra Cup crown in which it has been involved for a few years, even if it has not won an event this year.

His third place on Sunday afternoon, however, represented a seventh presence on the podium in 2022.

“It’s a great moment for me, she exclaimed as she got out of the car. I am happy to have acquired this title which is very significant. All the more happy with the consistency I have had throughout the season. »

An inspiration

Limoges is a well-known figure in motorsport, being one of the rare women who has been able to shine for a good number of years in an environment largely composed of men.

She stood out last year at the Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières by winning one of the two Nissan Sentra Cup races on the schedule.

“I hope this championship will inspire other women to come and race in the series and in motorsport over the next few years. For my part, I want to be back in the Nissan Sentra Cup next year and proudly wear the number 1 champion. »
