The American, one of the headliners of the Saudi circuit since its foundation, has finally tasted victory after three results in the top 10 in as many tournaments. However, he had to pull a rabbit out of his hat to get rid of Anirban Lahiri and Joaquin Niemann.

“DJ”‘s overtime shot streaked across the green before ending at the back of the cup, sparking euphoria among fans.

Johnson may not need any more help making ends meet, but he still got his hands on a $4.75 million prize pool with the win. His troupe, 4 Aces GC, won the tag team competition by a cumulative score of -32, which added $750,000 to the $4 million purse for the winner.

The 38-year-old finished the regulation 54 pennants at -15, tied with Lahiri and Niemann. Lee Westwood and Cameron Smith followed a stroke behind, sharing the fourth rung.

Westwood is also the only golfer to have managed a round of 62 (-8) during the tournament.

Moreover, for Lahiri, Niemann and Smith, it was the first competition since they changed allegiance on August 30. They all got their hands on a check exceeding one million dollars.

The LIV Circuit will move to the Rich Harvest Farms side of the course in Chicago from September 16-18 for its next event.
