(Toronto) Cineplex says its March box office revenues were up 46% from last year, thanks to Dune: part two And Kung Fu Panda 4.
The company says its box office revenues totaled 59.2 million last month, compared to 40.6 million in March 2023.
Cineplex also mentioned that the total amount represented 95% of what it recorded in March 2019 before the pandemic, when box office revenues stood at 62.6 million.
The company says 46.1% of its box office revenue last month came from premium seats, including Imax, UltraAVX and VIP.
The company specifies that 9.1% of its box office revenues in March came from international films.
Cineplex’s total box office revenue for the first three months of the year totaled $125.1 million, up from $123.3 million in the first three months of 2023.
