At the initiative of Elephant: memory of Quebec cinema, Maelstrom will then be available on Apple and Videotron platforms, the day after the event.

Maelstrom, which brought together Marie-Josée Croze and Jean-Nicolas Verreault on screen, with a narration by Pierre Lebeau, had theatrically displayed in September 2000. To this day, Denis Villeneuve describes this project as one of the pivotal stages in his career.

Maelstrom is the second film by Denis Villeneuve to be restored by Éléphant, after August 32 on earth, released in 1998.
