The second opus of the family comedy “Les Vieux Fourneaux” will be released in theaters on Wednesday August 17. Pierre Richard, Eddy Mitchell and Bernard Le Coq play three very energetic grandfathers who want to save migrants.
A joyous team of zany grandpas, long-time friends, meet in the countryside. But with them, the calm never lasts very long. This band of friends comes from a comic strip. Since 2014, six volumes have been released in bookstores. In 2020, comics were even in the top 10 best-selling albums in France. In this new film, Pierre Richard, alias Pierrot, helps migrants threatened with deportation.
A touching comedy to reach consciences. “We are in a time of incredible intolerance that it is [ce] film which, on the contrary, preaches attention to others, tolerance, open-mindedness, which is not necessarily the most widespread at the moment“, says actor Pierre Richard. Un clash of cultures but also a clash of generations since Sophie, a young mother played by Alice Pol, has to deal with the three septuagenarian friends. A social adventure and rock n’roll, which reminds us that there is no age to take life on the bright side.
