The film “Une Nuit”, directed by Alex Lutz, will be released in theaters on Wednesday July 5. It traces the meeting of Aymeric and Nathalie, two people who are opposites, but who will ultimately become accomplices.
This movie is called “A night“, but could have been called “An encounter” or “A man and a woman”. Love at first sight followed by a long evening wandering around Paris for two lovers, two very close actors, Karin Viard and Alex Lutz. The screenplay was written in pairs and inspired by a scene in the metro. “I really witnessed this argument. She was quite charming, well argued. […] We were a few passengers to say to each other that they seemed to like each other“, says Alex Lutz, the director.
A presentation in Cannes
This never-ending summer night is an opportunity for the two characters to talk about their lives, but also about desire, the couple and adultery. Karin Viard and Alex Lutz took pleasure in improvising dialogues. “It’s like a dance. There are partners with whom you dance very well“, explains the actress. This alchemy was visible on the red carpet of the Cannes festival, where they had come to present “A night“, a film out of competition.
