Tuesday August 23, Dany Boon and Line Renaud were the headliners at the opening of the Angoulême Francophone Film Festival. The two actors both play in the film “A beautiful race”. A feature film that tells the meeting between an old lady and a taxi driver.
Tuesday August 23, Line Renaud was entitled to a standing ovation. At 94, the actress came to present her latest film, shot with Dany Boon. A beautiful race tells the story of a lady who refuses to go to an EHPAD. To postpone the moment, she calls a taxi to take her to the places she liked. The screenplay was tailor-made for Line Renaud and the one she calls “her grandson”, actor Dany Boon.
The two actors know each other very well. “I have known Line since I was a child since she is from Armentières (North) and (…) she did free concerts”reports Dany Boon. “This film is very beautiful”said Muriel Robin, present in the audience. In all, around fifty films will be presented at the Angoulême festival, ten of which will take part in the competition.
