Cigarettes After Sex announces album and concert at the Bell Center

Indie rock outfit Cigarettes After Sex, whose vaporous sound is instantly recognizable, announced Wednesday that they will release their third album, Xon July 12.

This release will be accompanied by a tour which will begin on August 31 at the Bell Center in Montreal, and which will also take the American trio to Vancouver, Toronto, Paris and Lyon.

The first extract revealed on Wednesday, Tejano Bluesuggests that Greg Gonzalez has lost none of his caressing voice or his romantic pen.

This next record will also deal with a romantic relationship – a theme which recurs in almost all the texts of Cigarettes After Sex –, indicated the leader of the group in a press release.

“This record is brutal. I could sit down and talk to someone about this loss, but it wouldn’t be enough. I really have to write about it, sing about it, have the music, and then I can start analyzing it and learning from it. Or simply relive it – in the good sense of the word. »
