The directives concerning the elderly living in CHSLDs changed Thursday. These seniors will no longer be able to participate in gatherings outside their living environment unless there is an “exceptional” situation.
Seniors who reside in residential and long-term care centers (CHSLDs) will no longer be able to join gatherings, now indicates the site of the Government of Quebec. This measure applies to CHSLDs with or without a COVID-19 outbreak.
“Outings outside the living environment for gatherings are not allowed, except in exceptional situations,” specifies the website of the Government of Quebec.
In private seniors’ residences, the elderly can go to gatherings “under the same conditions as for the general population. On their return, symptom monitoring will take place for 14 days. In the event of a symptom, a screening test will be performed and the person will be isolated until the result arrives.
