Favorite: in the aquarium
Before each film in official competition at Cannes, from one vintage to another, an audiovisual capsule is presented as an appetizer on the screen. A red carpet is unrolled there with steps climbed to the top where the palm is enthroned. We hear in the background The Aquariumtaken from animal carnival by Camille Saint-Saens. Its melody becomes a sesame to lead us into the always somewhat magical world of cinema. At the start of the festival, we hear these notes with the emotion of deep-sea diving.
Rant: Aim for the Internet
It is as understood in advance. If bad guys want to destabilize a big, high-profile institution, they’re aiming for the heart. I named the Internet. The Web is the spearhead of the Cannes Film Festival for all its communications. Especially since ticketing has become electronic. On Monday evening, hackers hit the system in the evening, crippling the circuit. Not too long. It sounded more like a warning. Attention ! We are here ! We can always knock!
