Since his arrival in 2019, Christophe Urios has taken a step forward in Bordeaux-Bègles. Leader of the Top 14 at the end of the 2019-2020 season due to Covid-19, the Gironde club played its first semi-finals of the Top 14 and Champions Cup last season (for two defeats against Toulouse). After thirteen days, the UBB is for the moment at the head of the championship.
At 55, Urios is an emblematic character of French rugby. Known for his outspokenness, he has had many successes in his career. The former hooker took Oyonnax from Pro D2 to the finals of the Top 14, before winning the Brennus Shield with Castres, in 2018. Now remains to lead the UBB to a first major trophy.
