It will not take long to find a bench in Ligue 1. Christophe Pélissier will be the new coach of AJ Auxerre, the Burgundy club announced in a press release on Wednesday October 26. He succeeds Jean-Marc Furlan, “whose contract has been broken”. The latter was dismissed in the wake of the defeat at Clermont (1-2), on October 9, a match at the end of which he had sent the middle fingers to the Clermont public.

“AJA is pleased to announce the arrival of Christophe Pélissier as first team coach for the next two seasons, plus an optional one”, said the promoted. The ex-coach of Luzenac will be accompanied by Jean-Marie Stephanopoli, who will be his assistant, and Olivier Lagarde, who will take care of the guards. An official presentation at the Abbé-Deschamps stadium is scheduled for Wednesday at 10:30 a.m.
