Christophe intimate

“In 1965, a 20-year-old boy who called himself Christophe and looked like James Dean became famous thanks to a song with a sweet girl’s name: Aline. The song, sold over a million copies, became the slow of the summer and brought it into the court of yéyé icons. He pursued the path he had chosen, that of music and freedom, falling on the hits without looking for them, as if by magic. We owe him in particular The Puppets, The Blue Words, The Lost Paradises, Daisy, Sénorita, Mad Successetc.

In 2018, I had the chance to meet him. He was then a star with an incredible career, a legend. He opened his door and his heart to me, and I entered. So my life changed. It was immediate. He wanted us to write together. But not only.

His entire daily life revolved around music. His songs were his life. To create, he surrounded himself with girls. For him, a woman was the most beautiful thing on earth. Without the girls, he said, there would be no music. He loved them so much that he wanted to catch them all.

The day after his death, I began to write down our memories. I didn’t want to forget it. I didn’t want to forget anything. I wanted to keep it intact in my memory. And I thought a book was the perfect place to keep it alive.

Here he is as he appeared to me, as I knew him. »
