It is a disappearance as brutal as it is unexpected, in full confinement, on November 24, 2020. Christophe Dominici was killed after falling from an elevated road on the outskirts of Saint-Cloud park at only 48 years old. A death that completely changed the world of rugby in which the former sportsman had a special place. Taulier of the France team for years, Loretta’s husband wrote the finest hours of Stade Français Paris, from 1998 to 2007.

To pay a final tribute to the late rugby player, the owners of his former club have decided to make a strong gesture this Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at the Saut du Loup stadium, the training ground of the French Stadium. They chose to rename it Christophe-Dominici stadium during a moving ceremony in honor of the former winger. Among his teammates at the time present at this event, Pierre Rabadan delivered a speech full of emotion. “Christophe was the embodiment of the favorable rebound, the lightning that illuminated Paris”, did he declare.

Nearly 200 people gathered in this stadium located in the Bois de Boulogne, not far from the last home of Christophe Dominici. Among the relatives of the former sportsman, his wife was therefore present, as were his two daughters and his father. “Christophe was more than a player (…) He made young people want to be like him”, said the general manager of Stade Français and former teammate of the late Dominici, Thomas Lombard.

It’s unreal to see a stadium called Christophe-Dominici. I have not recovered from this story

Also present, the legendary president of the capital club from 1992 to 2011, Max Guazzini, very close to the former rugby player, gave a poignant speech. “Christophe was someone who was very dear to me.
