This year, the Christmas holidays are once again upset in France due to the fifth wave of Covid-19 and the Omicron variant. How will the French organize themselves for the holidays?

A few hours before Christmas, there are a lot of queues in front of the Covid-19 testing centers. In France, as the holidays approach, there is a shortage of self-tests and French people must remain isolated at home. There are also those who were to receive at home but who find themselves positive for Covid-19. Faced with the resurgence of cases, the French rushed, Thursday, December 23, all day, to be tested with the fear that their New Year’s Eve would be canceled.

“With the holidays, people are even more worried. I saw some people cry because they could not join their families.”, indicates a pharmacist. The other option before Christmas: get a self-test. In a Parisian pharmacy, demand has been massive for a few days. The Omicron wave has changed the game and many French people don’t want to take any risks at Christmas.
