In a video posted by a surfer, we can see a red SUV driving through the crowd. The vehicle with which the crime was allegedly carried out has been found.

Local police chief Dan Thompson told a press conference that “multiple deaths” occurred during the event, without specifying the number, as police are currently contacting families.

Lindsay Eckert was one of the dancers participating in the parade. “My dance team was about to turn the corner to finish the parade. I turned to face my dancers and saw a red SUV drive through a large group of people. The car rushed past our group, a parent just barely pulled a student off the road, ”she wrote to Press.

The group of dancers led by Mme Eckert was not injured. “But about 60 feet behind us, we could see a lot of bodies in the street, surrounded by people trying to help them,” she continued.

“We heard a loud bang,” Angelito Tenorio, West Allis city councilor, told The Associated Press. “And after that, we heard deafening screams and screams from the crowd, from the people in the parade. And people started to rush, to run away, with tears in their eyes, crying, ”he continued.

Waukesha police are asking citizens to avoid the town center of the municipality. Those present during the event are asked to go to the metro transit center, we can read on the official Facebook page of the police force.
