Christmas gifts to our elected officials

For this last column before Christmas, I dress up as Santa Claus, I jump in my sleigh and I visit the chimneys of some of our elected officials. And I’m having a little fun…

A parachute. During his end-of-year review, the Prime Minister jokingly asked Santa Claus for a compass. Not stupid. But for now, I’m giving him a parachute. He must slow down his party’s free fall, get back on its feet, and relaunch itself around a few well-felt priorities.

No Christmas present for him. Too risky to offend a minority or the Commission on Rights and Freedoms. It will be more of a December gift. A multi-colored, inclusive, gender-neutral doggie, made from organic, fair trade, non-polluting materials, in a gender-neutral, non-profit factory.

A bitcoin. It’s going to cost me dearly… bitcoin has gone up! Unlucky Pierre, it was when his video became popular that cryptocurrency reached the bottom. Notice that the Conservative leader no longer talks about this anyway. At the gates of power, he is more cautious.

A card game. Obviously, I give him a deck of 48 cards… without the kings. Since the oath crisis, we know that he doesn’t like kings. Unless the extent of his popularity leads him to dream of becoming the king of Quebec!

The remaining four kings of the PSPP card game. He loves the Kings! He must hope that the kings of Los Angeles will be generous with the fans and young hockey players to make the contested event a success, at least locally in Quebec.

A karaoke machine. He admitted to us his passion for karaoke at the same time as his attachment to the Cowboys Fringants, by risking himself to sing in a public event. Bravo for the humility. Nice moment. A little discomfort, nevertheless… The presence of Marc Hervieux at the event would have provided useful support.

A Hulk outfit. Not green all the time, that would be unbearable in his role as Minister of the Environment of an oil-producing country. But green from time to time when it shocks itself for the planet. And ripping your shirt off occasionally never hurts in politics.

A remote-controlled electric car. I’m taking care of buying him a nice one, worthy of his superb BMW motorcycle. But I do not provide batteries. I heard he has some in his pipeline. The batteries should just not cost so much that we decide to leave the car in its box!

A box of 1000 books from Catherine Dorion. The former member of Québec Solidaire did not spare it in her collection of score-settling. Gabriel will be able to get double satisfaction from his gift. He will benefit from the beautiful warmth of the fireplace. And he will laugh under his breath thinking of these copies that no one will read.

An electric train. Ugh! Too easy, that one.

Merry Christmas to everyone!!!
