Despite the health situation, many French people choose to meet up with their families to celebrate the traditional New Year’s Eve. This is the case of a family met by the France 2 teams in the Vaucluse.
The solution is all found to maintain distances: add an extension to the table around which the twenty-two members of this family from Vaucluse will gather for Christmas. Another precaution: children and adults have been tested. “It’s a little security for us, but we have to be careful, we don’t want to bring this to a 95-year-old grandmother”, explains Aurélie.
Despite everything, the party will be held in accordance with Provençal traditions. Homemade nougat is one of the thirteen Provençal desserts that the members of the family have decided to prepare. Another particularity: on the evening of December 24, Provencal songs are sung in the house. “We try as much as possible to bathe (the children) in this language, in our culture that we don’t want to lose”, explains Blandine.
