Christmas concert 2021, with the ONL and the Sirba Octet

For the holidays, we invite you to Eastern Europe! Alexandre Bloch conducts Zoltan Kodaly’s exuberant Galanta Dances. Inspired by traditional melodies, the Hungarian composer plunges into the rhythms that rocked his childhood.

The Sirba Octet presents a program composed of Russian, Gypsy and Klezmer music standards. A gentle wind of Slavic madness carries these pieces imagined to dance on slow or frenzied tempos, marrying a wide range of feelings.

Alexandre Bloch conducts the Lille National Orchestra.

In this third part, the Lille National Orchestra performs the dances of Galanta, Hora Moldoveneasca, and Tire l’Aiguille.

In the fourth and last part, the musicians play Kalinka, Katyusha, Otchi Tchornia and cover Moskovskaia polka.
