The businesswoman behind Hôtels Germain, Christiane Germain, will chair the board of directors of the new Santé Québec agency. Régine Laurent, former president of the Special Commission on the Rights of Children and Youth Protection, will sit on the board alongside, among others, the doctor Stanley Volant and the pharmacist and ex-politician Diane Lamarre.
The Quebec government announced on Wednesday the composition of the board of directors of Santé Québec, which brings together 15 members. In a press release, Quebec underlines that Christiane Germain, co-founder and co-president of the Germain Group, has “stood out for her managerial talent and her vision centered on innovation”. “The quality of customer service and the development of staff are at the heart” of his company’s mission, we add.
Several well-known names are part of the board of directors of Santé Québec, including Régine Laurent, media analyst and former president of the Fédération interprofessionnelle de la santé du Québec (FIQ), geriatrician David Lussier, former PQ MP for Taillon and pharmacist Diane Lamarre and the Dr Volant, currently medical advisor for the Health and Social Services Commission of the First Nations of Quebec and Labrador.
Other members include Anna Chif, co-founder of Dialogue Technologies de la santé, a virtual health care and well-being platform, as well as company directors such as Hélène Chartier and Daniel Gilbert. Former deputy minister at the Ministry of Health and Social Services Lise Verreault also sits on the board.
