Christian Horner, the boss of the Red Bull team, targeted by an internal investigation

The Dutch daily De Telegraaf revealed on Monday that an internal investigation had been opened within the Red Bull team, which the team itself confirmed.

Director of the Red Bull team since his appearance in the Formula 1 paddock in 2005, Christian Horner is in turmoil. The Briton is the subject of an investigation commissioned by the team, a spokesperson for the structure announced on Monday February 6, confirming information from the Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf [article payant en néerlandais]which reports that he is accused of “inappropriate behavior”.

After learning of some recent allegations, the company launched an independent investigation. This procedure, which is already underway, is carried out by a specialized external advisor. The company takes these matters very seriously and the investigation will be completed as soon as possible. It would not be appropriate to make further comments at this stage“, communicated the Red Bull team. Quoted by the daily De Telegraaf, Horner indicates that he “totally rejects these allegations.”

Since its creation, and under the leadership of Christian Horner, the Red Bull team has won six constructors’ world titles, including those of the last two seasons. Max Verstappen, its leader, is the three-time reigning world driver champion.
