Christian Dvorak will miss the rest of the season

The Montreal Canadiens announced Thursday that forward Christian Dvorak will miss the rest of the season as he will require surgery to repair a torn pectoral major.

Dvorak will go under the knife on Friday.

The 27-year-old American had missed the Habs’ last two games due to what the team called an “upper body injury.”

Dvorak also missed the Canadiens’ first 10 games this season while still recovering from knee surgery last winter.

The support striker will therefore have been limited to 25 games during the 2023-24 campaign. He had three goals and four assists.

The Canadian acquired Dvorak from the Arizona Coyotes on September 4, 2021. In three campaigns with the team, he played 145 games and amassed 24 goals and 44 assists.
