Christian Dubé wants to attract “top guns” from the private sector to manage the Santé Québec agency

In preparation for the launch of the Santé Québec agency, the Minister of Health and Social Services, Christian Dubé met with some fifty business people, whom he describes as “top guns”, in the hope of attract between 7 and 8 to manage this new instance.

The Santé Québec agency will be used in particular to coordinate the operations of the health system.

In doing so, the Ministry of Health could concentrate on its role of planning, orientation, performance measurement and the budget of the network.

“We absolutely must have the best organization with a complementary and efficient team,” says the minister’s office. For senior management, we will need to have people who complement each other, so experienced managers combined with people who know the network. The status quo in our health network is not viable.

In an interview with TVA Nouvelles at the end of February, Mr. Dubé indicated in particular that this approach was the result of a recommendation from the Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Health and Social Services, Dominique Savoie.

“The bill on efficiency, we can refer to it with Health Quebec, is among other things to be able to separate the ministry from operations, he said. A lot of people worked on the preparation of this bill. This will be another key part of the health plan.”

He should submit his bill on the efficiency of the health network within two weeks.
