Friday October 13 in Arras, the attacker had to face several members of the school, who tried to intervene and slow him down in his attack. Their names are David, Jacques and Christian. France Télévisions heard from them.
While the students gather to honor the memory of Dominique Bernard, Sunday October 15 other first names are on everyone’s lips. Those of three heroes, who intervened during the attack, and faced the attacker. First of all Christian, a maintenance worker. On a video, we see him with a chair, trying to push the terrorist away before falling, and receiving a series of kicks. Slightly injured, he wants to return to work on Monday. “If I stay at home, I will think. (…) At work, I will be surrounded by my colleagues and that will make me feel good“, he said.
Hit with a knife
His boss, Jacques, also intervened with a chair. He was stabbed in the chest and another in the lungs. His vital prognosis is no longer in jeopardy. The physical education teacher, David, received a stab wound to the face. The teacher is very appreciated by his students. “I’ve already had it three years out of four, I can tell you that this man shouldn’t have deserved this. He’s a great man, a golden man“, confides one of them. Through their courage, Christian, David and Jacques made it possible to avoid the worst.
