60m (M): Christian Coleman world champion ahead of Noah Lyles!

Christian Coleman dominates Noah Lyles! With a great start, the 27-year-old American won the 60 meters in front of his compatriot by signing the best world performance of the year (6.41). World champion in the 100 meters in Budapest in 2023, Noah Lyles takes second place (6.44). Jamaican Ackeem Blake finished on the last step of the podium (6.46).

World champion in 2018, the American won on Friday in the 60-meter final. He is ahead of his compatriot Noah Lyles, and offers himself the best world performance of the year.

The 60 meter crown finds a known face. Six years after his first coronation over the distance and two years after his failure against Marcell Jacobs, Christian Coleman won in the final of the World Indoor Athletics Championships, Friday March 1st. The Atlanta native, suspended in 2020 for breaches of anti-doping regulations, is ahead of Noah Lyles, world champion in the 100 meters six months ago in Budapest, and the Jamaican Adam Blake.

After dominating his semi-final, Christian Coleman made an impressive start in the final. The three-time outdoor world champion finally resisted the return of his compatriot Noah Lyles to offer himself both a second world title, but also the best performance of the year in 6”41. Beaten by three hundredths, Noah Lyles misses the opportunity to win a first indoor title in his career, at 26 years old.
