The New Jersey Devils announced on Friday that they have signed forward Chris Tierney, who played for the Montreal Canadiens last season, to a one-year, two-part contract.
The agreement will bring him the minimum wage of $775,000 in the National League, while he will receive $400,000 if he plays in the American League.

Tierney brought some experience to Montreal, in a group that was badly affected by injuries in the second half of the campaign. The Ontarian was claimed on waivers on February 23 and scored his first goal in blue-white-red the next day, against the Philadelphia Flyers.
The 29-year-old forward has amassed seven points in 23 games with CH. In 2022-23, he also played 13 games with the Florida Panthers, adding three points, and another 20 games with the Charlotte Checkers.
In career, the one who also defended the colors of the San Jose Sharks and the Ottawa Senators scored 236 points in 597 games.
