Chris Stapleton on LASSO, Melody Gardot on jazz

It is no coincidence that concert announcements for 2023 are multiplying as Christmas approaches, it is of course an incentive to hang tickets in the tree. LASSO and the Montreal International Jazz Festival unveiled some of their headliners: Chris Stapleton for country, Melody Gardot, Buddy Guy and a few others for jazz.

LASSO, which drew 35,000 spectators last summer according to producer evenko, will return for a second edition on August 18-19, 2023. Chris Stapleton, one of country’s biggest stars right now, will headline on August 19, a little less than a year after filling the Bell Centre. The day before, Kane Brown will close the evening. LASSO passes go on sale December 12.

The unveiling is broader on the side of the Montreal International Jazz Festival. The organization notably announced the return of Melody Gardot (July 2, at Salle Wilfrid-Pelletier) in the wake of her very fine album Between them tworecorded with pianist Philippe Powell.
