The Montreal Canadian conceded four goals in four minutes and finally lost 7 to 4 against the New York Rangers on Thursday evening at Madison Square Garden.

It was in the second period that CH’s unfortunate sequence occurred, when the visitors were ahead 1-0.
Chris Kreider got the ball rolling. He was then imitated by Will Cuylle and Mika Zibanejad (penalty penalty). Number 20 of the “Blueshirts” did it again by taking advantage of a numerical advantage to register the fourth of his team.
Juraj Slafkovsky gave the Bleu-Blanc-Rouge hope before the end of the middle period. Taking advantage of a great play from Cole Caufield to keep the puck in their rivals’ zone, the Slovakian beat Jonathan Quick with a magnificent wrist shot. The first player selected in the 2022 draft has amassed at least one point in his last seven outings.
The Rangers did not let their rivals dream of a triumphant comeback in the third period. Vincent Trocheck, Kreider and Kaapo Kakko registered on the mark during this third. This was also the case for Caufield, who scored twice in a losing cause. The Sainte-Flanelle sniper now has 19 goals to his name in 2023-2024.
The Canadian’s first goal was the work of Jake Evans in the first period. The center player took advantage of a comeback to open the scoring in a second game in a row.
In front of the Habs cage, Samuel Montembeault repelled 24 of the 31 pucks sent in his direction. Quick, for his part, made 29 saves.
The Canadian will return to action on Saturday, as part of a visit to the Washington Capitals at the Bell Centre.
