Chris de Burgh, to whom we owe the hit The Lady in Red, will stop at Place des Arts in Montreal on April 22, as part of its tour The Legend of Robin Hood & Other Hits, which will bring it across Canada.
“It is one of the first countries that adopted my music […]. There is a great love affair with my music there. It will be a great pleasure to reconnect with Canada. […] We look forward to seeing you in the spring! Chris de Burgh said in a statement.
The artist will present on stage some of the pieces from his most recent album released last September, The Legend of Robin Hood. The concept of this 27e album was inspired by his involvement in writing the lyrics and melodies of Robin hood. This musical, which will be presented in 2022 in Germany, revisits the story of the thief in the big heart of the Sherwood Forest and his gang of outlaws.
At Place des Arts, Chris de Burgh also promises to play Moonfleet, Into the Light, Spanish Train and other successes from his great musical career, which has lasted for 50 years.
His last visit to Montreal dates back to 2015, when he played at Salle Wilfrid-Pelletier with his group and an orchestra of 34 musicians under the direction of Stéphane Laforest.
Tickets go on sale December 10.
