A Chinese court on Friday sentenced Chinese-Canadian pop star Kris Wu to 13 years in prison on rape charges.
The Chaoyang District Court in Beijing said Mr Wu was sentenced to 11 years and 6 months for rape in 2020 and 1 year and 10 months for the “crime of gathering a mob to engage in violence”. sexual promiscuity” during a 2018 event in which he and others allegedly assaulted two women they got drunk.
The court said all three victims in the rape case were also drunk and were unable to consent.
He said a combined sentence of 13 years had been agreed and that Mr. Wu would be immediately deported after serving his sentence.

A Canadian diplomat was in court to hear the sentencing, he added.
Kris Wu was also fined 600 million yuan (approximately C$112,000) for tax evasion for allegedly underreporting income from performances and advertisements, among others.
The June trial of the 32-year-old former member of South Korean band EXO was closed to the public to protect the privacy of victims.
