Chinese ambassador: uOttawa made a ‘mistake’ in banning cameras, says Trudeau

uOttawa made ‘a mistake’ by giving in to Chinese ambassador’s request to stop media from filming his speech at a conference on its campus on Monday afternoon, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says .

“First, I don’t know all the details of the incident, but for me they made a mistake banning cameras in Canada. We mainly open to people who have a public profile, the media must have access to that, ”launched Mr. Trudeau before entering question period on Tuesday.

First invited to attend the event, cameramen from several media, including Radio-Canada, were shown the door by university employees, at the express request of the Chinese Embassy and its Ambassador Cong Peiwu.
