Thursday, June 15, the teams of 13 Hours take you to discover the Chinese valley of Jiuzhaigou. This national reserve, classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is renowned for the beauty of its landscapes and its lakes, in particular that of the Five Flowers.

AT Jiuzhaigou (China)the earth sometimes merges with the sky. This valley, located at an altitude of 3,000 m, is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful in China. It has waterfalls and hundreds of crystal clear lakes. In Tibetan land, tourists flock to discover the Lake of Five Flowers. Despite its 9 m depth, the bottom is still visible. “This water is so transparent”marvels a woman. If you come here, it’s to discover the panorama of this highly protected site.

According to legend, it is a sacred lake. Here, we do not touch anything. Yang Jin Xiuthe guardian of the premises, keeps an eye on the grain. “This water is a bit like the soul of Jiuzhaigou. We have to do everything to protect her.”she explains. Some of the lakes in the valley are loaded with mystery, as they do not freeze in winter and change color. Indeed, there are deep hot springs and a unique ecosystem.

A Tibetan photographer spends hours at the water’s edge. The beauty of these lakes he captures summer and winter alike. Jiuzhaigou means in Tibetan the “valley of nine villages”. The site has been listed as a UNESCO heritage site since 1992. It is expected to welcome three million visitors this year.
