According to the NGO Foodwatch, the promotion of many food products does not comply with WHO nutritional recommendations.
Foods and drinks that are too fatty, too salty and too sweet. In its study published Wednesday September 13, the NGO Foodwatch denounces advertising aimed at children. In total, 228 foods were screened. Conclusion: nine out of ten products should not be marketed to young people. Advertising on social networks is one of the preferred strategies of manufacturers.
Better supervise these practices
“It goes from TikTok to YouTube, via Snapchat”, explains Audrey Morice, campaign manager at Foodwatch France. According to the NGO, the promotion of these products does not comply with the nutritional recommendations of the World Health Organization (WHO). Foodwatch therefore asks the State to better regulate these practices. In France, one in six children, aged between 6 and 17, is overweight or obese.
