While most Quebecers are preparing to celebrate Christmas with family, children will be spending the holidays alone… again. This is unfortunately the sad reality of many children in the DPJ.

To bring them a little of the magic of Christmas, several speakers chose to spend December 24 with them rather than with their family.
“Children will not have outings and will not have visits during the holiday season,” said the godmother of the DPJ Youth Foundation, Nancy Audet.

There is no question for the journalist to sit idly by. Ms. Audet launched a call for help on social networks to fulfill the wish of a dozen young people: to go see Illumi, the light exhibition located in Laval.
“The response was extraordinary,” she told Benoit Dutrizac, via QUB radio.
Not only did the Illumi organization immediately promise to provide the tickets requested by Ms. Audet, but it also committed to providing all the tickets that will be necessary so that as many children who reside in a youth center can see the exhibition during the Holidays.
“My function in life is to bring a little light into this world,” explained Normand Latourelle, the creator of Illumi and Cavalia.
Despite this excellent news, Nancy Audet recalled the sad reality of the children of the DPJ.
“You don’t know the number of children who wait with their little bag and their little suitcase on the stairs for an hour, two hours, and the parent never comes,” she lamented.
