Children hospitalized after a fall at Fort Gibraltar in Saint-Boniface

Sixteen school children and one adult are hospitalized after falling at a popular Winnipeg tourist attraction.

The Winnipeg Fire and Paramedic Service says three children are in an unstable condition after falling four to six meters inside Fort Gibraltar.

Thirteen other children and one adult are hospitalized in stable condition.

Paramedics say the information they received in a 911 call shortly before 10 a.m. is that the children are between 10 and 11 years old.

Fort Gibraltar is a venue in the Saint-Boniface district that hosts events as well as historical re-enactments.

Hospital and paramedic representatives are expected to provide more information Wednesday afternoon.
