Alexandre Miron is accused of driving while impaired causing bodily harm, of refusing to comply and of obstructing the work of peace officers.

On December 24 around 5:45 a.m. on Highway 15 in Sainte-Adèle, the 29-year-old man lost control of his vehicle before rolling over.

Extrication pliers were necessary to extricate the young child who was on board from the car.

The toddler suffered serious injuries, but his life is not in danger, reported the Sûreté du Québec (SQ).

Prohibition

The driver, believed to have been driving under the influence of alcohol, was arrested and taken to the police station where he refused to take an alcohol test.

Anyone who broke a curfew was headed to jail for the start of the holiday season.

You should know that Miron, who has made numerous appearances before the court over the last decade, had just been punished by the authorities.

Sanctions

According to research carried out by The newspaperAlexandre Miron has also been sanctioned on various occasions in municipal court over the years.

The Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts resident was, among other things, arrested while driving despite sanctions and because he provided a false declaration to an officer.

In this new case, the young offender should return to court in Saint-Jérôme shortly for further legal proceedings.

The SQ was not able to draw up, on Tuesday morning, an initial assessment of its interventions in terms of impaired driving for the start of the end-of-year festivities.

According to statistics reported in 2022 by the Société de l’assurance automobile du Québec (SAAQ), 85 people died and 200 others were seriously injured due to drunk driving between 2016 and 2020.
