(Québec) Arrest of seven individuals from the Québec region on Wednesday in connection with investigations into sexual crimes, possession and distribution of child pornography.

These individuals are expected to face various charges. In a press release from the Service de police de la Ville de Québec (SPVQ), it is about “sexual assault, sexual contact with a person under the age of 16, production, possession and distribution of child pornography, breaking promise, fraud under $5,000 and concealment”.
The investigation was initiated in 2021 following a denunciation. The alleged crimes date back to 2020 and 2021.
Police officers from the Family Crimes and Sexual Assault Unit and the Fraud and Proceeds of Crime Unit of the SPVQ collaborated in the investigation.
The suspects were interviewed by investigators. They were all released on a promise to appear at a later date.
The investigation is continuing and other arrests could follow, specifies the SPVQ.
