(Montreal) Many agents from several Quebec police forces proceeded from Tuesday to Thursday to the arrest of 26 individuals aged 33 to 75 years, from several regions of Quebec, for suspicion of child pornography.
The important investigation allowed the arrests to be made in Abitibi-Témiscamingue, Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean, Lanaudière, Gaspésie, Laval, Montérégie, Estrie, Center-du-Québec region, Outaouais as well as in the regions of Montreal and Quebec.
The Sûreté du Québec (SQ) reports that the suspects appeared at the courthouse in the region of their place of residence to face charges of possession, distribution and access to child pornography.
During the police deployment, several searches were made at the homes of the suspects and computer equipment was seized for analysis.
