Child dead in Bois-des-Filion | Three people arrested

(Terrebonne) Three people were arrested in connection with the death of a young child that occurred Monday evening in Bois-des-Filion, in Lanaudière.


Tuesday morning, these suspects were questioned by members of the criminal affairs office of the Intermunicipal Police Service of Terrebonne-Sainte-Anne-des-Plaines-Bois-des-Filion.

The link between these people and the young victim was unknown and nothing had yet been said about the circumstances of the child’s death.

In the meantime, divers from the Sûreté du Québec (SQ) searched the Mille-Îles River, looking for clues about this affair.

Emergency services were called around 5:30 p.m. Monday to a residence on 34e Avenue to intervene with the child, whose age and sex have still not been specified; he suffered serious injuries.

Despite resuscitation efforts, the child was pronounced dead on site.

Shortly after, forensic identification technicians attended the scene to begin an investigation. Several people were met in the evening.
